Last of a disappearing breed? Not at Yamaha! Choice is a good thing and the more choices the better. Perhaps a 4-stroke MX bike is not the machine for you so we have taken some of the best features of our 4-stroke YZ line and added them to the YZ250, so it maintains its competitive edge.
For 2009, the Yamaha YZ250 gets a new seat cover, a lighter front brake hose clamp and a new anodized drive chain.
We love the smell of premix in the morning. Our legendary two-stoke is more potent than ever with a light aluminum frame housing a patented YPVS Power valve-equipped engine that delivers great power-to-weight ratio. The 2009 Yamaha YZ250 is ready to race out of the crate complete with ProTaper aluminum handlebar, titanium footpegs gripper seat and Excel rims.

The best just keeps getting better. The bike that started the 4-stroke revolution benefits from a host of engine and chassis improvements for 2009. The transmission had been revised, as have the CDI and “shorty” muffler. Even the swingarm and linkages has gone under the microscope for better balanced handlig and reduced weight. The bike that started the trend just keeps on getting better.
Some times it can be the little things that in the end make the difference.
We have changed a number of big items on the ’09 YZ450F including the transmission and swingarm, but we didn’t forget the little details either. We’ve added more adjustability to the handlebars, redesigned the rear hub. Heck, we even changed the seat and clutch lever. If you are serious about racing … the 2009 YZ450F is the bike for you.
