Irene, does your engine use wet clutch ? If the gear box and the? engine uses a common oil it must not be car oil. It must be motor oil that have supplements.

A do it yourself tip... Warm the bike up first to make sure all the oil gets drained especially for people with thicker oil. Leave the bike to fully drain and cool down. Once its cooled down and drained? then you can go ahead and fill it with oil and change the filter without burning yourself.

Depending on how anal you are with your bike you only? need to change it every other time. But personally i love my bike so i change it every time

WTF???? you spent a lot of money for fairings, footrests, and a lot of other components and then??? 10-W30????? Are you crazy Irene? Not a good idea take a lube? oil with low viscosity.. it's not good for engine that run to 13.000 g/min or upper!! You are a pretty mechanic, but not prepared to techincal components for your bike.

HOT oil changes are the best IF you can do it without burning yourself. Hot because all the sediments are floating? freely in there and once you release all the oil, they come along with it

Thats the advantage of seperate gearbox/clutch and engine? oil setups. Honda do it on their high performance off-road bikes.
