The KTM is a raw bike, no rider aids. You fuck up, you know about it. I have tested all three and the most challenging (read rewarding) bike to ride was the KTM. The 1198 S, RSV4 APRC Factory and especially the BMW S100RR were virtually like plug and play video games. I had the throttle pinned? through a sweeper at one stage on the BMW yet the computer was the one deciding how much power I needed. Although the KTM is the savage in the comparison, it is a true riders machine. Raw bikes are better!

Those displacement handicaps are because a V-twin doesn't develop as much power for a given displacement as an I4. That displacement advantage is specifically to encourage manufacturers to use v-twins. Otherwise, everyone would go with I4. They aren't specifically for Ducati, either. Honda was allowed the same displacement? advantage with the RC51.

Ducati sucks dick. The only reason they win races is because of displacement and weight? handicaps

It is very? light but it turns differently to the others. I would say yes it does need extra to turn it but the suspention is all adjustable so you can tweak it to get it to turn better if you wish. its very different from other bikes. Test ride one is the only way to say because everyone rides differently. Its definately a great piece of kit. I love my one, It definately needs to b e ridden hard to understand it I haven't fiddled with my settings but maybe one day ill give it a try.

would I be right in saying the 1198s just needs a slightly more forceful hand to make it turn into a? corner? rather than gently shifting on it you kinda need to drop it into a turn?

The 1198S looks like it was designed with a samurai sword; the RSV4 Factory looks? like it was hit with a sledge hammer. Samurai sword thanks

The 1198S is designed like a Samurai sword; the RSV4 Factory looks like it was hit wiht a? sledge hammer. Sharp edge thanks

@DucRacerX To fully apriciate it yes, on the street though its still a joy to ride,? really easy to ride but dont like going too slow or it gets hot. The suspention is great as long as it not too bumpy but it can be adjusted.

aprilia is? best

I own a Ducati 1198s and because i've had the time to actually get properly used to the bike I can say its truely awsome. Once you get used to the grunt, the Ducati is very very controllable. The steering is different from other bikes but learn to understand? it and it really does a wonderful job. carlos checka is demostrating how good the bike is. Lets not forget adjustments that can be made. The duke needs to be riding beyond what you think is fast to be able to apriciate it properly.

By: CAJFB. on 29 Jun 11, 05:16:13
I agree but...................If I could have 2 bikes it would be? the ducati 1198 and the Aprilia Rsv4 I know all the jap bike fans will hate me for saying it but its the truth!

The rarity of these bikes in the US? mainly with the overall track performance of these machines, not so much the straight line. The liter bikes are all limited to 189mph anyway. If i had to classify a motorcycle brand as exotic the Duc would definitely be one in that class.

I CANT CHOOOOSE?
By: SykoEsquire. on 14 Jun 11, 16:06:36
Sir, the cost differential alone puts those two cars in a class of it's own. Cost differential for a motorcycle is not that far offset. Besides a very small percentage of people with use ANY sport bike to it's potential. Any liter bike you can buy can do 180+mph. Cars, not so much. Thats what makes the Lambo, Porsche and Ferrari exotic.? What makes the bikes "exotic" to you?
