i have a question. i just got a 2006 yz450f and i used to have a yz400f the 400? was so damn hard to start and had a compression release. this bike isnt nearly as hard and has no compression release is this normal?

If i were you I would start off with a 250f and master that before moving to the 450. I have no doubt that you cannot handle it. Although? I think the 450 would give you more arm pump than you want.

All bike brands seem to be great. Carmichael won a championship on every bike but Yamaha, and i feel that was because he never rode Yamaha. All new bikes are well proven so it's really based on budget,? and preference.

i know what u mean i have a 2011 yz250 i change my plugs at least every month i in high rpms usually but i usually use 10 gallons of gas every weekend i ride im? going 4 stroke when the 2012 yamahas coming out should i get a yz250f or a yz450f im 6'4 190 pound

i have to change the plugs on my yz250 every few months due to oil and gas fouling them. i have not chnged my plugs on my yz250f since ive had the bike. you also burn more fuel in a two stroke coz even when youre not racing,? the rpms are way higher all the time. those are the facts 4 strokes are maintenance friendly and with better cams and intakes and fuel systems than before they can now rival some 2 strokes.

i have a 08 yz250f(4stroke) and a 05 yz250(2stroke) I will say this that a 2 stroke winds up faster than a 4 by a long? shot, thats not my opinion but engine mechanics. if you stop at the base of a hill with a 2stroke and want to build enough momentum to get some air,no problem. The power comes on like quick. not as much on a 4stroke, it will still get you up and over nonetheless. however a 4 stroke is more user friendly premium gas and change the oil every couple rides and go.
